Hunt Business Students, Alumni Unite for Project MOVE 2025
The Big Picture: Students, alumni, faculty, staff, and corporate partners from the Woody L. Hunt College of Business took part in Project MOVE 2025, supporting El Pasoans Fighting Hunger.
An estimated 75 students, alumni, and staff from Hunt Business volunteered at El Pasoans Fighting Hunger — among the larger college-led groups at this year’s Project MOVE.
Why It Matters: Project MOVE brings Miners together for a day of service — connecting the University to the broader El Paso community. At the food bank, Hunt Business volunteers helped sort and pack thousands of meals for families across the region, reinforcing a culture of service and leadership.
What They Said:
- Marla Chavez, Finance, Junior
"It’s my first year attending Project MOVE and I think it's been a great opportunity to connect with other students from the college and serve the community. The El Pasoans Fighting Hunger staff explained just how many people use them and what an important role they play in serving our community." - John Hadjimarcou, Ph.D., Rick and Ginger Francis Dean
"It’s important for our students, our staff and our faculty to engage in the community and give back. We need to understand that there are people who are suffering, and there are ways for us to help them. It’s not just being successful in business, being successful academically — but also understanding the community that we’re living in and supporting our community."
