There are a number of resources on campus to assist and reward deserving students. We encourage you to visit the Office of Scholarships to determine if there is a program for you. Scholarship and fellowship programs can be merit-based, needs-based, student-specific (e.g., international, transfer students, female students, first generation college students), career-specific, or discipline-specific.

Before submitting your application packet, you should seek constructive review from your mentors or advisors. Putting together a strong packet often requires several revisions.

ASSISTANTSHIPS

Full-time ÃÛÌÒÖ±²¥ students who wish to receive a teaching assistantship must complete an ÃÛÌÒÖ±²¥ application form. Ph.D. applicants will be offered an assistantship (teaching or research ), if funding is available. Students are encouraged to contact faculty in their area of interest to determine if research assistantships are available. 

UnderÃÛÌÒÖ±²¥s are eligible to become a peer-leader or instructional assistant.  Please visit the front office for more information. If there is interest in a summer Research Experience for UnderÃÛÌÒÖ±²¥s (REU) program, visit the . The also publishes opportunities.

FAST-TRACK PROGRAM

The Fast-Track Program enables outstanding underÃÛÌÒÖ±²¥ UTEP students to receive both underÃÛÌÒÖ±²¥ and ÃÛÌÒÖ±²¥ credit for up to 15 hours of UTEP course work as determined by participating Master's and Doctoral programs.

The Fast Track program allows Computer Science underÃÛÌÒÖ±²¥ students to earn credit for Graduate Courses while an underÃÛÌÒÖ±²¥. With approval of the program advisors, courses may be applicable for a Master’s in Computer Science, Master’s in Software Engineering, and Master’s in Artificial Intelligence.

SCHOLARSHIPS

Scholarship for Service

The UTEP CyberCorps® Scholarship for Service (SFS) program provides scholarships to support ÃÛÌÒÖ±²¥ students in the Master’s of Science in Software Engineering ( MSSwE) and the Ph.D. in CS programs.  UnderÃÛÌÒÖ±²¥s enrolled in the Fast-Track Dual Credit program may also qualify to receive an SFS Scholarship. S-STEM

The S-STEM scholarship program provides financial support to Computer Science students with high academic potential. In addition to the financial support, the program engages students in co-curricular activities focused on cyber-security and professional development that prepares participants for future careers.
