Visualization Wall

The Visualization Lab is available for researchers, faculty and professional staff that require an ultra-high resolution display surface geared for Scientific Exploratory Research and Collaboration.

Purpose:

  • Allow Researchers to visualize and explore large complex data sets.
  • Provides collaborating research teams to share and display results.
  • Facilitate decision making collaborations for High-Profile UTEP Administrative Presentations that require sharing and analysis of data with local and external organizations/decision-makers.

Specs:

  • Planar 4x3 100 million Pixel Ultra-High Resolution Visualization Tile System.
  • Meeting Canvas 3.0 is a software windowing platform that enables multidisciplinary collaboration, research and data-driven decision making.
  • Allows wired, wireless and networked connected sources
    • One Single-Click Wireless Presentation and Collaboration System allowing up to eight sources to be displayed
    • Rack-Mounted Silverdraft Demon Workstation, One Intel Xeon Gold 6246R CPU, 92GB RAM, Four Nvidia RTX 8000 GPUs, Nvidia SYNC II, 10GB NIC
    • 1080P PTZ Camera Audio/Video Conferencing System for External Collaborative Meetings
    • Ceiling Beamforming Microphones and Speakers
  • TGX High Performance Remote Desktop Software
    • TGX’s low latency, like-local performance, even at 4K resolution, makes it the ideal remote desktop for high-end graphics workstations and video applications.
    • Allows for Distributed Visualizations across campus/world.
    • Image Quality: TGX delivers sharp, non-distorted images that do not lose pixels or even tear.
    • High Resolution: Work remotely in resolutions at 4K or higher.
    • Real-Time Response: Experience consistent, real-time keyboard and mouse response.

  Render Node

The High-Performance Render Node is available for Researchers that require specific visualization-intensive software to be able to display high-resolution scientific data models on the Visualization Wall.

Purpose:

  • Allow Installation of resource intensive visualization software tools for the study and exploration of scientific datasets.

  • Rack-Mounted Silverdraft Demon Workstation, Two Intel Xeon Gold 6246R Processor, 16 Cores, 32 Threads, 3.4 - 4.1 Ghz, 192GB RAM
  • Two 512 SSDs for Dual-Boot OS (Windows 10, Redhat Linux)
  • 2TB SSD for Application Storage
  • Four NVIDIA Quadro RTX 8000 48GB GDDR6
  • 10GB Network Interface Card

  Control Desk

Microsoft Surface Tablet Control Station.

Purpose:

  • Control and display of content and sources on Meeting Canvas.
