The U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) Science, Technology and Policy Program (DOE-STP) is designed to provide opportunities for students, postÃÛÌÒÖ±²¥s, and faculty to participate in programs, projects, and activities at the Department. Fellows will receive hands-on experience that provides an understanding of the mission, operations, and culture of the DOE. As a result, fellows will gain deep insight into the federal government's role in the creation and implementation of energy technology policies; apply their scientific, policy, and technical knowledge to the development of solutions to issues of importance to the DOE and continue their education and involvement in areas that support the DOE mission either in a technical or policy-related role.

As an ORISE participant, you will,

  • Gain insight into the federal government's role in the creation and implementation of policies that will affect energy technology development.
  • Contribute to the implementation of energy policies by applying scientific and technical knowledge to develop solutions to issues of importance to the DOE and the Office of International Affairs.
  • Continue your education and involvement in areas that support the DOE mission, either in a technical or policy-related role.
  • Become part of a group of highly trained professionals with the education, background, and experience to be part of the workforce supporting the DOE's future mission.

Sentara RMH School of Medical Laboratory Science

This course is a 12-month program of didactic and practical training. Students are under the direct supervision of the program director and education coordinator. Formal lectures on the theory of various laboratory tests are given by certified medical laboratory scientists and physicians. Students spend time in a classroom setting, then rotate through all the departments in the clinical laboratory.

Sentara RMH School of Histotechnology

This is a 12-month course that includes six months of lecture and student lab followed by six months of rotation through a hospital histology lab. Rotations will be in Sentara Norfolk General Hospital Immunohistochemistry Lab, Sentara Norfolk General Hospital Histology, and Sentara Martha Jefferson Hospital Histology Lab. Block teaching will be utilized in the didactic segment of the program with progression of courses from Fixation, Processing/Embedding, and Microtomy to Staining.

Post-Baccalaureate Research Education Program (PREP) - UTMB Health

The UTMB PREP program is for academically talented post-baccalaureate individuals from groups underrepresented in the sciences who are highly motivated to pursue a PhD and desire additional research experience and career skills training prior to applying to PhD Programs. , the Computational Health Informatics Program at Boston Children’s Hospital, an affiliate of Harvard Medical School and a collaborating program of its Department of Biomedical Informatics, is recruiting postdoctoral fellows with an interest in advancing healthcare with artificial intelligence.We seek outstanding candidates passionate about advancing the ability to acquire and then reason over an entire spectrum of data types ranging from clinical, epidemiological, environmental, and social, all the way down to molecular and genomic.

Qualifications

Candidates should have a strong quantitative background and capacity for innovative approaches to biomedical scientific inquiry or the translation of computational methods to engineering or software applications in medicine.All qualified applicants must have a doctoral degree (MD, PhD, MD/PhD, or equivalent) and a strong record of publishing.

Project Coyote's State Advocate Program trains and deploys dedicated volunteers who work within local chapters to advance wildlife protection through policy advocacy, education, and outreach initiatives. State Advocates commit approximately 5 hours weekly or ~20 hours per month) for a minimum six-month term, receiving specialized training and ongoing mentorship and support from Project Coyote staff. Students can receive course credit through their academic institution!

Master and PhD Posi/ons in Earth and Environmental Sciences The University of Texas at El Paso

We are seeking multiple highly motivated Master’s and PhD students to join our lab, which focuses on a broad spectrum of Earth and environmental sciences. Our primary interest lies in studying Earth-life systems across various temporal and spatial scales. Students can join our lab through either the Geoscience Program or the Computational Science Program. Prospective Master’s and PhD students will engage in interdisciplinary research utilizing a combination of mechanistic theoretical models (based on fundamental physics), highdimensional mathematical models (with numerical simulations), machine learning methods and big data analyses, computational biology and bioinformatics as well as laboratory experiments and field observations. The research in our lab is driven by the overarching goal of answering fundamental questions about the microscopic/macroscopic interactions, dynamical properties, and evolutionary processes of Earth-life systems as well as identifying basic rules governing Earth’s sustainability and exoplanets’ habitability. The main responsibility of ÃÛÌÒÖ±²¥ students is to conduct scientific research and publish in high-quality academic journals.
